Primoz Roglic vince per la quarta volta in carriera la Vuelta raggiungendo Robert Heras come recordman di successi della corsa spagnola. Lo sloveno, già sicuro del trionfo grazie al vantaggio accumulato sui rivali, si è classificato secondo nella cronometro individuale conclusiva di 24,5 km di Madrid vinta dallo svizzero Stefan Kung in 26’28. Quest’ultimo ha inflitto trenta secondi alla maglia rossa e quarantuno a Mattia Cattaneo.

Salgono sul podio finale Ben O’Connor, secondo, ed Eric Mas, terzo.
